Lochmeyler Farm is a 300acre dairy farm in North Pembrokeshire, four miles inland from Solva. The farm was purchased in 1989 by Glyn and Morfydd Jones and was transformed into a successful dairy farm and award-winning Bed and Breakfast.
Today, Lochmeyler Farm is run by their daughter, Margo and son-in-law, Matthew. They converted the Bed and Breakfast into two Self-Catering Cottages in 2016. As well as offering a peaceful, relaxing location, Lochmeyler offers the unique experience of being part of a working dairy farm. Guests are encouraged to help feed the animals in the pet corner, collect eggs, see calves being born and to watch the cows being milked in the undercover viewing gallery.
The Cottages have been beautifully renovated and are extremely well equipped. Guests are very welcome to bring their pets, bikes, boats and even horseboxes to Lochmeyler. An extensive welcome pack is provided by Margo. Home-made bread, Bara-Brith, Welsh Cakes and Blackberry Jam sit alongside fresh farm eggs and pasteurised milk from the farm.
New for 2018 Matthew and Margo have just started making Ice-Cream using the milk from their cows. It is in its early stages and guests’ feedback is proving invaluable. Watch this space!
